Protesters demand arms embargo over Middle East conflicts

A group of protesters assembled outside the American embassy in Ottawa to oppose U.S.-led military actions in the Middle East. They held Palestinian and Lebanese flags and demanded an end to hostilities in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza.

The demonstration followed a 14-day ceasefire agreement announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Protesters cited ongoing Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz as reasons for their action.

Iran stated the ceasefire should include Lebanon, but U.S. and Israeli officials maintained it did not. The conflict intensified in Beirut, where at least 182 people were killed in a single day.
