Editorial accountability
Editorial complaints
Complaints about accuracy, privacy, fairness or journalistic conduct are recorded for review by the Editor.
How the procedure works
Jonathan McConnell, Editor, is the publication's complaints manager. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within three working days and provide a substantive response within 21 working days. Where a complex investigation takes longer, the complainant will receive an update.
Please complain within four months of publication or, for online material that remains accessible, within four months of the matter first coming to your attention. We may consider a later complaint where fairness requires it.
A response may uphold, partly uphold or reject a complaint. Appropriate remedies can include a correction, clarification, amendment, apology or no action, depending on the evidence and seriousness.
