At least 78 people were injured in Dimona, Israel, including a 10-year-old, following Iranian ballistic missile attacks. The attacks also targeted the city of Arad, resulting in additional injuries. The Home Front Command implemented tightened restrictions across southern Israel, limiting public gatherings to 50 people if shelter is accessible and permitting workplaces to operate only with shelter access. Educational activities were canceled in the affected regions, and schools nationwide were ordered closed on Sunday and Monday.
The Health Ministry reported that eight of the wounded were in serious condition and 16 in moderate condition. Some of the injured, including adults and children, were evacuated from southern hospitals to medical facilities in the central region. The health system was operating in full emergency mode, preparing for increased mental health needs and supporting evacuees transferred to hotels in the Dead Sea area.
Police Commissioner Danny Levy stated that no one was reported missing following the Arad attack, though searches through the rubble were ongoing using both technological and physical methods. The IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Eyal Zamir, approved strikes across all fronts after the attacks. The assessment included senior military officials and was conducted following the missile impacts on Dimona and Arad.
