Ukraine's air force reported that Moscow launched 619 drones and missiles during the attack. President Volodymyr Zelensky described the operation as a deliberate strategy to intimidate civilians and damage national infrastructure.
Russia's defence ministry stated that its strike used precision weapons and targeted military-industrial facilities. Separately, Russian officials reported four deaths in the Samara region from a Ukrainian drone attack on an oil refinery.
