The Board of Peace envoy met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the next phase of the peace process. The Board confirmed that Israel will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas has decommissioned all weapons, including heavy arms and tunnels.
The Board stated that the full withdrawal of the Israeli military beyond the Yellow Line will occur only after disarmament is complete. This condition was reportedly committed to by Hamas during negotiations with mediators.
Israeli officials, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, rejected the proposed withdrawal framework. They asserted that the current provisions were not included in the text previously approved by Israeli ministers.
