The two ministers signed a declaration to revive bilateral ties, with plans to reinstate ambassadors and dispatch officials on reciprocal visits. The government cited a new foreign policy strategy under President Rodrigo Paz as the basis for the rapprochement.
Paz's administration has eased visa restrictions for Israeli and American travelers, signaling a shift from prior anti-Western policies. The change marks a reversal of Bolivia's previous alignment with China, Russia, and Venezuela under the MAS party.
