Cabotegravir is approved for use in Northern Ireland as an alternative to daily oral PrEP. It is administered every two months and offers a less frequent option for HIV prevention.

The Department of Health has begun formal endorsement of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance. Final implementation steps are underway to enable patient access.
