Venezuela files legal claim over £820m gold held by Bank of England
The Central Bank of Venezuela has initiated legal proceedings against the Bank of England to recover €930m ($1bn; £820m) in gold reserves stored in London. The claim follows the Bank of England's refusal in January 2019 to release the gold, which Venezuela asserts as its property.
