Chinese Deputy Minister of Health Zeng Yixin rebuffed the proposal to investigate the origins in Wuhan as "disrespect for common sense and arrogance towards Science". WHO experts said it was very unlikely that the virus escaped from a Chinese lab, but the theory has endured.
