The Commission on Presidential Debates formally cancels the second presidential debate of the 2020 election, scheduled for October 15 between Donald Trump and Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden. It is the first time in U.S. history that a presidential debate has been cancelled. An alternative "virtual debate" was proposed due to health concerns after Trump tested positive for COVID-19, but was turned down by Trump.
