Work on bringing Clarawood House in the Orangefield area of Belfast to the ground has begun, marking another shift in the city's eastern skyline after nearly six decades.
The structure is being dismantled as part of a £308 million scheme led by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to remove old tower blocks and build improved social housing.
In west Belfast, delays meant that the twin towers at Seymour Hill in Dunmurry were not removed until this month, following work commencing at the end of July.
Coolmoyne House and Rathmoyne House were completely demolished during that period, joining Clarawood House as part of the wider clearance effort.
The start of operations at Clarawood House has resulted in the closure of a section of the Connswater Community Centre.
Residents and local businesses in the area are currently navigating the disruption caused by the ongoing construction activities.
