BBC Sport Northern Ireland is focusing attention on Duncan Ferguson's debut fixture as manager of Glentoran, a match against Coleraine scheduled for this Friday.

Ferguson, who previously managed Forest Green Rovers and Inverness, has been given approximately ten days to organise his side following the confirmation of his arrival on 19 October.

The postponement of the Ballymena fixture extended the preparation window for the Belfast Giants ahead of this encounter at the Showgrounds.

Under joint interim leadership from Tim McCann and Paddy McCourt, Glentoran secured four victories and one draw to climb to fourth place in the table.

A win against Coleraine would level their points tally with Larne while demonstrating Ferguson's ability to manage the Irish Premiership despite his limited familiarity with the competition.

Glentoran trail the league leaders by fourteen points following a difficult start to the campaign but remain unbeaten in their last five league fixtures.

Their recent form includes a 2-1 victory over Ballymena at the Oval before the scheduled match against Coleraine.
