The final stage of the Vuelta a España was suspended on 14 September 2025 after pro-Palestinian demonstrators blocked the route on Paseo del Prado in Madrid. Protesters pushed over crowd barriers and occupied the final mile of the race route.
Spanish National Police attempted to disperse the crowd using tear gas, but several protesters clashed with officers and formed barricades. At least 22 police officers were injured during the confrontations.
Organizers announced the race had ended early due to security concerns and confirmed no podium ceremony would take place. The Israel–Premier Tech team stated the stage was neutralized multiple times before cancellation.
