A further 22 sets of infant remains were recovered from the site of the former Tuam Mother and Baby Home in County Galway. The remains were found in an area marked on historical maps as a burial ground.
All remains were interred in coffins and date from the period the home operated between 1925 and 1961. Forensic analysis is being carried out on each set of remains.
The Office of the Director of Authorised Intervention in Tuam reported that 28 DNA samples have been collected from relatives. A further 175 people are being assessed for eligibility to provide samples.
