Hamas returned the bodies of four of 28 deceased Israeli hostages, partially breaching a ceasefire provision requiring all remains to be returned within one day. The agreement recognised that Hamas might not locate all bodies within the specified timeframe.

The Israeli military stated it would conduct forensic tests before confirming identities and notifying families. Up to 24 other hostages' remains are still unaccounted for in Gaza.

Around 1,700 Palestinian detainees were released by Israel as part of the agreement. About 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences were also freed, with 100 released into the occupied West Bank.
