Ivory Coast secured their first-ever World Cup knockout stage appearance by defeating Curaçao 2–0 in Group E, finishing as runners-up.

Ivory Coast defeated Curaçao 2–0 to progress from Group E as runners-up. Nicolas Pepe scored both goals, opening the scoring in the first half and securing victory in the second half.

Pepe's first goal followed a contribution from teenage player Yan Diomande. His second goal came midway through the second half, sealing the result. The win marked Ivory Coast's first advancement to the knockout stage of a World Cup.

Curaçao finished bottom of the group after losing to Ivory Coast. Their head coach Dick Advocaat acknowledged the team's effort, noting they created similar chances but lacked finishing luck. Ivory Coast will face either France or Norway in the next round.
