Javokhir Sindarov won the FIDE Candidates Tournament in Cyprus, securing the title before the final round. He made a quick draw with Wei Yi, allowing Anish Giri and Fabiano Caruana to rise in the standings.

Vaishali Rameshbabu claimed the Women’s Candidates Tournament with a score of 8.5 out of 14. She defeated Kateryna Lagno in the final round, a result that confirmed her victory.

Bibisara Assaubayeva drew with Divya Deshmukh, failing to secure a win that would have altered the outcome. Vaishali’s victory came after strong preparation and accurate play in the Sicilian Defence Dragon Variation.
