Monégasque Vacherot wins Shanghai Masters as lowest-ranked titleholder

Valentin Vacherot, ranked 204th, defeats cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the Shanghai Masters final to claim his first ATP title and become the lowest-ranked winner in Masters 1000 history. He is the first player from Monaco to win a Masters 1000 event.

Valentin Vacherot defeated his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the Shanghai Masters final with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–3. The victory marked Vacherot's first ATP title and made him the lowest-ranked winner in Masters 1000 history.

Vacherot had previously beaten Novak Djokovic in the semifinals to reach the final. He secured the win with a serving masterclass in the third set, including three straight love holds.

Rinderknech saved one match point while serving at 15–40 down but failed to hold after a forehand error. Vacherot's half-brother and coach Benjamin Balleret was present in the team box during the match.
