Iran halts uranium enrichment after facility damage

Iran has ceased enriching uranium at all facilities within the country, according to foreign minister Abbas Araghchi. The announcement followed attacks on nuclear sites during a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.

Satellite imagery confirms no significant work has occurred at the Fordo, Isfahan, or Natanz enrichment sites since the attacks. Iran’s atomic agency head Mohammad Eslami stated the country faces ongoing threats of further strikes.

Iran’s government has not resumed enrichment operations despite previously enriching to 60% purity. The country maintains its nuclear program remains peaceful, though the IAEA continues to assess its cooperation.
