Israel recovered the remains of two hostages in Gaza, one identified as Ilan Weiss, 56, from Kibbutz Be’eri. He was killed during the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023, and his body was taken into Gaza.
The second hostage recovered was identified as Idan Shtivi, 28, who died during the attack on the Nova music festival. He was killed while attempting to save others, according to Israel’s President Isaac Herzog.
The Israeli military did not disclose the location in Gaza where the remains were recovered. The recovery occurred amid ongoing operations in northern Gaza, including strikes in Jabalya and Gaza City.
