Israel will reopen the Rafah crossing to permit Palestinians to exit Gaza, following security approval and coordination with Egypt. The European Union mission will supervise the process.
At least 16,500 severely ill or injured Palestinians are awaiting evacuation for medical treatment abroad. Only 235 patients, mostly children, have been evacuated since the ceasefire began.
Israel has received partial human remains from militants in northern Gaza, which forensic testing confirmed do not belong to the two remaining hostages. The bodies of 345 Palestinians killed in the conflict have been handed over by Israel.
