Edinburgh’s Fringe closes its first weekend with performances including a live podcast appearance by Kaye Adams and a stand-up show from Simon Amstell.
Adams and co-host Karen Mackenzie are bringing their podcast How To Be 60 to the Gilded Balloon at the Museum. The show is listed for the Auditorium at 2.45pm on Sunday 9 August and is the final date of a short three-show run.
The podcast show centres on Adams and Mackenzie navigating life at 60, with the live version billed as carrying the same candid discussion and comic mishaps as the podcast.
At Summerhall, Scott Turnbull is presenting Surreally Good in the Former Women’s Locker Room at 5.20pm. The one-man sketch show combines lo-fi animation and storytelling through an eccentric Edutainment Officer character in a strange corporate setting.
The Summerhall run is scheduled from 7 to 31 August, excluding 17 and 24 August. Deadline News described it as an offbeat choice for audiences looking beyond a standard stand-up hour.
Simon Amstell’s I Love It Here is also listed for Sunday evening at Underbelly’s McEwan Hall. British Comedy Guide lists performances at 7pm on 8 and 9 August, with most tickets costing £24. The show follows a sold-out five-week London residency and is billed as a two-night Fringe appearance.
