A new cinematic account of the Tuam baby deaths has opened its doors to audiences in Ireland.
The film, titled The Lost Children of Tuam, features English actress Monica Dolan portraying Catherine Corless.
Liam Neeson served as a co-producer on the project which is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
Screenings commenced on 25 September and the picture is scheduled to reach UK theatres on 9 October.
The story depicted concerns the tragic deaths of infants at Tuam Hospital during the mid-twentieth century.
Monica Dolan's performance focuses on Catherine Corless, a central figure in the historical narrative presented on screen.
The production was co-financed by Neeson alongside other partners to bring this specific history to the big screen.
Audiences can now view the film in Irish cinemas following its official opening date.
UK theatre-goers will have access to the same material starting from 9 October next month.
