New theropod dinosaur species discovered on Isle of Wight
Palaeontologists at the University of Southampton report the discovery of a new theropod dinosaur, Vectaerovenator inopinatus, on the Isle of Wight, England. The species lived during the Cretaceous period, 115 million years ago, and shares traits with Tyrannosaurus rex and modern birds.
