Police deployed water cannons to disperse a crowd near Sandyknowes roundabout, seven miles from Belfast city centre. The crowd had gathered close to a bin that was set on fire.
Officers reported that the crowd threw stones, bottles, and debris at police, including a rock that shattered a BBC vehicle's windshield. A large number of people, many wearing black, were seen throwing objects and damaging property.
Police reinforcements arrived with additional water cannons and Land Rovers to block road exits and push the crowd back. Some individuals were seen attempting to remove masks, and a number of arrests were made.
