Protesters gathered near the family home of Vickrum Digwa in St Denys, Southampton, following his life sentence for stabbing Henry Nowak. The demonstration began at Southampton Central Police Station before moving to the area where Nowak was killed in December 2025.
Officers in riot gear were pelted with chairs, cans, and flares during the protest. The crowd had initially assembled at the police station before marching to the St Denys location.
Digwa, 23, was convicted of murdering Nowak, 18, with a large blade he claimed to carry for religious reasons. He lied to police at the scene, falsely claiming to be a victim of a racist attack.
