In Norway, lorry drivers drove a convoy to Oslo’s parliament, with 70 to 80 trucks participating in the diesel roar protest. The movement followed a 17.9% rise in fuel and lubricant prices from February to March.
The Irish government had announced a €250m package to reduce fuel costs, including a temporary excise duty reduction. The taoiseach postponed a trade mission to Canada to address the crisis.
