Knockavoe Special School in Strabane, County Tyrone, will close for three days to manage a scabies outbreak. The Public Health Agency is overseeing the response and coordinating treatment for pupils and staff.
The school will close on Thursday and again on Friday and 6 February to allow for deep cleaning and treatment. Public health specialists will be present to provide advice and support during the process.
Parents have been instructed to clean homes and wash items such as bed linen, clothes, and towels. Treatment includes a cream and tablet, and all individuals will be treated simultaneously to reduce reinfection risk.
