SSE Airtricity will implement an 8.1% reduction in gas and electricity tariffs from 1 April for domestic and small business customers. The change follows a decline in the actual costs of delivering gas to Northern Ireland.
A typical household with a credit meter will save £80 annually on gas, equating to £6.65 per month. Customers using prepayment meters will see a similar reduction of around £79 per year.
The price adjustment stems from a difference between forecasted and actual gas delivery costs. The Utility Regulator confirmed the reduction reflects lower wholesale gas prices and will continue to monitor tariff changes.
