House approves war powers bill on Iran, Senate blocks it

The United States House of Representatives voted 214–208 to approve a war powers resolution under the War Powers Act, seeking to require the president to halt military action against Iran. The resolution was a concurrent measure, not binding and not intended to become law.

The United States Senate voted 47–49 to block the resolution from advancing, preventing it from reaching the president's desk. The Senate's action followed the House's earlier approval of a similar measure.

The House measure was not binding, so it would not have required the president to act. The Senate's rejection meant the resolution would not proceed further.
