Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old University of Southampton student, on 3 December 2025. The attack occurred as Nowak was walking home after a night out with his football team.
Digwa’s mother was found guilty of assisting an offender by concealing the knife used in the murder. The weapon was a kirpan, a ceremonial item permitted for religious use under UK law.
The prosecution highlighted that Digwa had made videos of Nowak running and lying injured, which were described as intrusive and humiliating. He was also described as having a preoccupation with weapons, including searching for them on his phone.
