An 11-year-old Palestinian boy was shot in the pelvis by Israeli soldiers near Hebron. He was playing football in a schoolyard when military vehicles appeared and he began to run.
Residents reported that the boy and friends had not posed a threat and were fleeing in fear. A soldier fired from the back of a vehicle, according to a witness.
The boy was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. His body was later carried to his village for burial, with family members present. The Israeli military said soldiers responded to rock-hurling and are reviewing the incident.
