Saleh al-Jafarawi was shot and killed in Gaza City on 12 October 2025 by members of the Doghmush clan. The attack occurred during armed confrontations between the clan and Hamas forces in the Sabra neighbourhood.
Al-Jafarawi was reportedly documenting destruction in Sabra when he was targeted. He was shot seven times while surrounded by armed men linked to Israel-backed militias.
The Gaza Government Media Office condemned the killing as a result of Israel’s policy of using proxy militias. The incident took place during the initial phase of a US-brokered ceasefire.
