Away victories for Ballymena United and Coleraine helped shape the first Saturday of the 2026-27 Northern Ireland Premiership season.
The four Saturday results were Linfield 0 Ballymena United 3, Carrick Rangers 1 Portadown 0, Dungannon Swifts 1 Coleraine 3 and Glentoran 2 Limavady United 0. The same completed round-one scores were also recorded by TheSportsDB.
Ballymena United produced the widest winning margin of the Saturday programme, beating Linfield 3-0 away from home. Coleraine also scored three on their travels, winning 3-1 at Dungannon Swifts.
There were home wins in the other two Saturday fixtures. Carrick Rangers beat Portadown 1-0, while Glentoran opened with a 2-0 victory over Limavady United at The Oval.
The Saturday results followed the previous evening’s season opener, when Cliftonville beat Crusaders 2-1 at home. That left five completed results across the opening part of the Premiership programme, with Cliftonville’s Friday win followed by four Saturday fixtures.
The pattern on Saturday was evenly split between home and away success. Ballymena United and Coleraine took full points outside their own grounds, while Carrick Rangers and Glentoran made home advantage count in lower-scoring wins.
Round one therefore moved through its first Saturday with no listed draw among the four completed matches. The day brought two three-goal away performances, two home clean-sheet victories and early points for Ballymena United, Coleraine, Carrick Rangers and Glentoran.
