The Department of Health NI has published the Mental Health Strategy Delivery Plan for 2026/27.
This document sets out the activities intended to deliver Actions 1 and 2 of the ten-year Mental Health Strategy.
It details progress made against commitments contained in the previous annual delivery plan.
The strategy aims to strengthen mental health services, improve outcomes for service users and ensure effective use of resources.
Work continues on promoting good mental health and preventing illness across the life course.
Ongoing efforts include supporting a regionally consistent Mental Health Crisis Service.
Investment in Child and Adolescent services remains part of the wider programme.
Stakeholder engagement undertaken in April 2026 informed the development of the plan.
Representatives from Health and Social Care, the Community and Voluntary sector helped identify focus areas.
The review identified a need to concentrate delivery effort where the greatest progress can be achieved.
The full text of the plan is available for public consultation.
