Northern Ireland total farm income provisionally rises to £1.03bn

DAERA estimates that Total Income from Farming rose by 40.5% in 2025, while average Farm Business Income is forecast to increase in 2025/26.

Northern Ireland’s Total Income from Farming rose from £736m in 2024 to a provisional £1.03bn in 2025, the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has said.

DAERA said this represented a nominal increase of 40.5%, or 35.6% in real terms. Aggregate agricultural gross output was 12% higher at £3.62bn.

Separately, the department forecasts that average Farm Business Income will rise from £56,390 in 2024/25 to £66,840 in 2025/26.

Total Income from Farming is a calendar-year aggregate measure, while Farm Business Income is an account-based measure for individual farm businesses. DAERA’s 2025 aggregate estimate is provisional and may be revised.
