Applicants have until noon on Friday to enter the competition for new members of the Tourism Northern Ireland board. The Department for the Economy is running the process, with appointments expected to begin on November 30 and continue for three years.
No specific academic qualification is required. The department said it is seeking people from varied professional and community backgrounds who can contribute to the board's collective oversight of tourism strategy, governance and public spending.
The time commitment is normally one day a month, although occasional evening work may be needed. Board members receive annual remuneration of £6,272. The posts are non-pensionable, while approved travel, subsistence and dependant-carer costs can also be paid.
Tourism NI is a statutory body funded by the Department for the Economy. Its board holds corporate responsibility for the organisation, including performance, strategic direction, risk management and the proper use of public money.
A guaranteed interview scheme is available to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria. Application packs set out the selection requirements and must be completed before the midday deadline on August 14. Candidates are assessed through the published public appointments process.
