Free sustainability and upcycling workshops have begun in central Belfast as part of the Fleadh Belfast programme.
The family drop-in sessions opened on Monday 3 August at 2 Royal Avenue and Castle Place. They are scheduled to run from 10am to 1pm each day until Sunday 9 August.
The workshops form part of a week of Fleadh activity in the city, bringing a practical environmental theme into the festival programme. The sessions are free to attend and are aimed at families looking for daytime activities during Fleadh week.
Belfast City Council’s events listing places the workshops across two city-centre locations. 2 Royal Avenue has become a regular civic and cultural venue, while Castle Place offers an additional central setting for the drop-in programme.
The use of both venues gives the workshops a visible presence in the heart of Belfast. Running across seven days, the schedule allows families to attend on different dates during the festival rather than limiting the activity to a single session.
The sessions focus on sustainability and upcycling, placing reuse and creative making within the wider Fleadh Belfast community programme. The 10am to 1pm timing also makes them part of the city’s daytime festival offer.
The programme continues daily through Sunday 9 August. With free entry, central venues and a family drop-in format, the workshops add an accessible environmental strand to Belfast’s Fleadh week.
