Hamas hands the remains of three more dead hostages over to the Red Cross following the release of four bodies on Monday.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that the Red Cross collected four more coffins containing the remains of deceased hostages in Gaza on 14 October 2025. The handover took place in Gaza City, as reported by Reuters, and the remains were en route to Israeli military forces. The Israeli military stated that formal identification of the bodies would follow their return to Israel. A fourth body previously identified as a hostage was later determined not to be one, according to the same report.

Hamas has now handed over the remains of three additional deceased hostages to the Red Cross, following the earlier release of four bodies. Twenty-one bodies of hostages remain in Gaza, according to the Israeli military. The ceasefire agreement published by Israeli media had required the handover of all deceased hostages' remains by 12:00 local time on 13 October 2025, though it acknowledged Hamas and other Palestinian factions might not locate all remains within that timeframe.

The Israeli government announced it would reduce the flow of aid into Gaza in response to delays in returning the remains of 24 deceased hostages. Far-right security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt aid to Gaza unless all hostage bodies were returned. He stated that Hamas had not yet returned 24 bodies, which he said indicated the mission to destroy Hamas had not been achieved. The US has also engaged with Hamas, with President Donald Trump stating that US officials had spoken to the group and that Hamas had indicated it would give up its weapons.
