Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh assassinated in Tehran during Pezeshkian inauguration
Haniyeh was killed in Tehran on 30 July 2024 during the inauguration of Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian. Hamas and Iran attributed the attack to Israel, which did not confirm responsibility.
