Hamas released a video featuring Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Alon Ohel, both Israeli hostages held since the 2023 Nova music festival massacre. Gilboa-Dalal confirmed he was alive after 22 months of captivity and stated he was being held in Gaza City.

The video showed Gilboa-Dalal hugging Ohel and indicated Hamas intended to keep hostages in areas where IDF operations were expected. He mentioned Hamas planned to relocate them to locations matching military movements.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum warned that the IDF had no confirmed location for the hostages and that the Gaza operation risked their deaths. It cited the prior discovery of six murdered hostages in Rafah tunnels as a precedent for potential loss.
