Heavy rainfall led to widespread flooding across Northern Ireland, with 10-25mm expected and up to 60mm recorded in higher ground areas. The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain, which remained in place until 18:00 GMT.
Rail services between Belfast and Dublin were disrupted due to flooding on part of the line, resulting in a reduced timetable. The Department for Infrastructure reported 600 flooding incidents across roads and rivers during the event.
A married couple was trapped in their home in the Riverside area after floodwater entered, with rescue delayed for several hours. The DfI acknowledged communication issues and delays in pumping water at the site, though workers had arrived early and provided sandbags.
