Nigeria finished second in the group and will enter a playoff for a World Cup spot. They had previously failed to qualify for the 2022 tournament in Qatar. Their 4-0 home win over Benin was not enough to secure automatic qualification.
Senegal and Ivory Coast also secured automatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Their victories concluded Africa's qualifying campaign for automatic berths. The final draw for the tournament will take place in December.
