Irish Open rescheduled to July as DP World Tour finalises 2027 calendar

The tournament, previously held in September, will now run from 1-4 July next year following the announcement of the season's full schedule.

This marks a significant shift for the event, which was relocated to September in 2023 after being held in July previously.

The decision to move the tournament earlier this year stems from the scheduling of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland, set for 17-19 September.

Shane Lowry secured victory at Doonbeg last week before the venue was reorganised for the biennial contest between Europe and the United States.

Consequently, the French Open has been pushed back to 7-9 September to accommodate the new timeline.

With the Ryder Cup taking place slightly earlier than usual, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth will follow immediately after the contest between Ireland and England.

This arrangement ensures a continuous flow of major events across the European tour throughout the autumn months.
