The Israeli Air Force carried out a strike that killed Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, who served as the Head of Commerce at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Oil Headquarters. The IDF stated that Kahi played a role in advancing the IRGC and its proxies across the Middle East.
The strike targeted infrastructure linked to Iran's ballistic missile programme, drone deployment, and air defence systems. The IDF said the destruction of these sites was necessary to preserve Israeli airspace sovereignty over Iran.
The military also reported that Kahi's activities contributed to funding Iran's missile and drone capabilities. These systems have been used in attacks against Israel and Gulf countries since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.
