The Israeli military confirmed the killing of Taher Ahmad Salem Abd al-Wahed, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant who infiltrated the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. He was identified as having commanded the abduction of Inbar Hayman, a 27-year-old IDF Caracal Battalion commander, following her death during the attack.
The second militant, Salah Subhi Salah Qatrawi, was killed after planning attacks against IDF soldiers near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution centres. The strikes were directed by the Shin Bet, according to the military. The operation occurred on Friday, as confirmed by the IDF.
Hayman’s body was held in Gaza for over two years and was confirmed to her family in December 2023. She was the only woman remaining in Hamas captivity for most of the war’s duration, following the release of nearly all female hostages in November 2023. Her identity was confirmed by the IDF after her body was returned.
