The Israeli Navy intercepted the Sirius and Cabo Blanco, the final two vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, as they approached Gaza from the north. These vessels were stopped near Port Said, west of Cyprus, as the flotilla's journey concluded.
Six additional vessels were intercepted on Tuesday afternoon, following the earlier interception of most of the flotilla on Monday. The GSF tracking platform reported scattered movements after the Vanguard ship, the Andros, was stopped.
The flotilla had previously attempted a blockade run in April, sailing with 56 vessels from Italy. A land convoy from Zalitan was halted by Libyan forces near Sirte, where it had been blocked from proceeding.
