Boucher Road Playing Fields is to revert to use as sports pitches and community space after hosting large-scale concerts. The change follows a decision by Belfast City Council to prioritise local sports needs over music events.

The site has previously hosted concerts by Bruce Springsteen, Snow Patrol and other major artists. It will now include two full-size GAA pitches and one intermediate soccer pitch.

Sinn Féin councillor Natasha Brennan confirmed the shift would support local clubs and youth players. The move is expected to reduce disruptions for residents during concert season.
