Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed that a major road improvement project on Belsize Road in Lisburn is scheduled to commence operations starting next week.

The £757,000 scheme involves essential resurfacing works covering the stretch between Kirkwood's Road and Boomers Road alongside upgrades to kerbs and footways.

Road closures will be necessary towards the conclusion of the project to ensure completion of all specified tasks.

Although measures have been implemented to maintain local access, drivers and pedestrians should anticipate potential delays in the area.

Compliance with temporary traffic restrictions remains mandatory for all road users during the duration of the works.

The Department for Infrastructure has organised traffic management arrangements designed to reduce inconvenience for commuters and residents.

Weather conditions will influence the final timeline, with completion expected by 17 March 2027 if circumstances remain favourable.

Media inquiries regarding this development should be directed to the Department for Infrastructure Press Office.
