Conor Murray, who retired from international rugby in 2023, identified Ciaran Frawley as a player to watch for Ireland this autumn.
The former scrum-half noted that Frawley has made an impressive start to his career at Connacht following a summer transfer.
Frawley secured three of his four penalty attempts in the victory over Japan in July, marking his debut for the Republic of Ireland.
That match was played against lower-ranked opposition compared to the teams Ireland will face in November.
The upcoming fixtures include matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa at the Aviva Stadium on 7 November.
Frawley previously spent time at Leinster where he was rarely deployed at fly-half due to competition for places.
He also featured frequently at full-back or centre during his tenure in Dublin.
Jack Crowley took charge of the fly-half position after a shaky start to the Six Nations earlier this year.
Crowley impressed throughout the remainder of that tournament and later filled in when he sustained a back injury at the end of last season.
Prendergast wore the 10 jersey for summer Nations Championship matches against Australia and New Zealand following Crowley's injury.
